AlgoTrade Connect · current version 1.15

Publish your MT4 / MT5 results live, free and read-only

AlgoTrade Connect is a small read-only EA. It sends your closed history and open positions to algotrade.ltd, so anyone can watch the account live: floating P/L, max floating drawdown, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly results.

  • Read-only: it never opens, closes or changes a trade
  • No investor password needed; your broker password never leaves your terminal
  • Works with any broker, demo, cent or real, MT4 and MT5

Step 1: create your free account

One AlgoTrade account (username or email) logs in the website and every AlgoTrade Connect EA. One account can report many MT4 / MT5 accounts.

Conditions

  • MetaTrader 4 or 5 on Windows (PC or VPS). Mobile apps cannot run EAs.
  • The terminal stays open and connected; for 24/7 updates use a VPS.
  • A free AlgoTrade account (Register above).
  • New accounts start private. You choose which ones are public on the leaderboard in your account page, and can switch them back any time.

Then 4 more steps

Updating from an older version? Remove the old EA from the chart, then add AlgoTrade Connect the same way. Your login, history and website settings stay the same. Full guide: read online.

  1. Get MetaTrader

Already using MT4/MT5 with your broker? Skip this. Otherwise MetaTrader 5 from MetaQuotes works with any broker: after install, go to File → Open an Account and type your broker's name to find its server. MT4 is only available from brokers.

  2. Download and install AlgoTrade Connect

Log in, then choose one way. Way A, installer (easiest): close MetaTrader, run AlgoTrade_Connect_Setup.exe, tick your MetaTrader(s) and click Install. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. Way B, by hand: download the file for your MetaTrader: .ex5 for MT5, .ex4 for MT4.

In MetaTrader: File → Open Data Folder, then open MQL5/Experts (MT4: MQL4/Experts) and copy the file there. The file name is always AlgoTrade Connect, so a new copy replaces the old one. Back in MetaTrader, right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and choose Refresh.

  3. Put AlgoTrade Connect on a chart

Drag AlgoTrade Connect onto any one chart of your account (one chart per account is enough). In the window that opens:

    1. Tick "Allow DLL imports" (MT4: tab Common; MT5: tab Dependencies or Common). AlgoTrade Connect then uses the normal Windows internet connection, so there is no web address to add.

    2. Tab Inputs: fill in Login and Password. Frequency can stay as it is.

    SettingWhat it doesChoices / defaultExample
Login (username or email)Must fill. Your algotrade.ltd username or email. Not your broker login.textgoldtrader or jane@example.com
Your login password in algotrade.ltdMust fill. The password of your AlgoTrade account. Not your broker password.textyour AlgoTrade password
FrequencyHow often it sends. Manual: it sends once when you attach it, then only when you press Send now on the chart. Longer gaps mean the floating drawdown is measured less often.Every 1 minute / Every 60 minutes / Once a day / ManualEvery 1 minute

Everything else is set in your account page: name on the leaderboard, public or private, portfolio (portfolios of 2 or more real, or 2 or more cent accounts, show in Portfolio view), count results by each order or each basket, and reset data. A new account starts private, named by platform and login (for example MT5 12345678) until you rename it. The chart panel shows these settings after each update.

  4. Check it works

Open the Experts tab at the bottom of MetaTrader. You should see AlgoTrade Connect: connected, then full history uploaded (large histories take a few minutes). Your account appears in your account page within about a minute. Make it public there to show it on the leaderboard.

Messages you may see on the chart: tick 'Allow DLL imports' → press F7 and tick it (step 4). wrong login or password → check Login and Password, no spaces; if you changed your username, use the new one or your email. too many wrong logins → wait 1 hour. this copy is too old → download a new copy from your account. no connection: … → the line says why: name not found (DNS), cannot connect (firewall, antivirus or no internet), timed out, or certificate error (check the PC date and time). A NEW VERSION line on the chart panel means a newer copy is out: download it from your account and replace the file.

Questions

Can AlgoTrade Connect trade or change my orders?

No. It only reads history and open positions and sends them to algotrade.ltd.

What data is public?

Model name, last 4 digits of the account number, platform, demo/cent/real, balance, floating and closed P/L, percentages, open and closed orders. Never your name or passwords.

Can I stop it?

Remove the EA from the chart. To hide the account but keep recording it, switch Public off in your account page.

Does it work with several EAs on one account?

Yes. It reports the whole account, whatever EAs or manual trades are on it.

How is AlgoTrade Connect different from other tracking sites?

Most tracking sites are large platforms with many tools. AlgoTrade Connect is a small free EA that sends your history and open trades straight to the AlgoTrade leaderboard, where every account is shown next to its drawdown and measured with the same time-weighted return. You can run it next to any other tracker.

Do I have to share my investor password?

No. The EA runs inside your own MetaTrader terminal and sends the data out, so you never give anyone a password. It also works when the terminal is logged in with an investor (read-only) password.

Can my EA send its trade history to a website?

Yes, that is what AlgoTrade Connect does: it posts your closed deals and open positions to algotrade.ltd every minute. The public numbers of all public accounts are also in a JSON feed at /api/live.json.
